Begonia bowerae

My Begonia are grown in an unheated poly tunnel and our night temperatures at this time of year are low single digits so the plants look a little rough but are in excellent health.They will regenerate with the slightest increase in temperature.

A rhizomatous begonia of extraordinary vigour. Sometimes you encounter a plant which ticks a whole lot of boxes and this Begonia species is one of those. It barely stops growing all winter even here in Olinda and then first whiff of spring and the flowering starts. This is a small Begonia with heavily patterned leaves, its soundly evergreen for me.
