Begonia echinosepala

This plant in many ways reminds me of some Camellia species. Narrow gloss deep green leaves which droop slightly and clusters of small white flowers with yellow stamens. This is a shrub like Begonia which left to its own devices will grow to 1.8m. I cut mine back every year in late spring or when it starts growing after winter.
Most begonia make great tub plants and can be left in the same container for years if they’re fed regularly, echinosepala is no exception, it also makes a great garden plant in frost free areas.
