I have a collection of species and hybrid small flowered Camellia, yunnanensis being on of my favourites. Any plant with white petals and yellow stamens attracts my attention so this was an obvious choice. If left unchecked this Camellia will grow into a small evergreen tree, mine is pruned annually straight after flowering and is easily maintained at 2m. The flowering period is late winter each bloom being 8-10cm in diameter. As with so many Camellia species this shrub will develop beautiful smooth cinnamon bark with age. I have 2 year old seedlings so not large plants. There may be some variation given these are seed raised plants but judging on foliage appearance they all look tru to the species.
