Helleborus argutifolius

Unlike the orientalist cultivars this Helleborus requires some sun to perform at its best. The amount of sun will depend on its intensity in your area, here I grow it in a north facing position.Given too much shade it will be sparse and leggy. This is a large evergreen Helleborus with lovely big leaves that have a slightly silver hue. The lime green flowers occur in winter reaching a height of around 60cm. It self seeds very lightly here.
