Nerine fothergilli major

. Nerine are along with Cyclamen and Crocus one of the stars of Autumn and fothergilli is one of the classics.It has broad slightly glaucous leaves and large red flowers early Autumn. I always move my Nerines at this time of year while they’re in full growth.
Nerine are not a bulb for the impatient gardener they take a couple of years to settle down after disturbance and are slow to increase. They are however tough and reliable once established, perfectly suited to our climate.
Plant the bulbs with their necks exposed in a sunny well drained position. If grown in pots they like to be crowded and fed regularly over the growing season
