Geranium wallichianum is one of the parents of the hybrid roxanne so it has the same habits. This is a soft violet cranesbill that is completely deciduous and surfaces very late spring usually mid November. It has wide spreading branches that can cover quite a large area during Summer and into autumn. It will grow in full sun but always has a washed out look so is better in partial shade where it will shine.
Given this plant is so late to surface it is ideal for planting on top of spring bulbs in dappled deciduous shade.
