Polygonaceae holds some real gems and this is one of them. Disporopsis pernyi is a rhizomatous evergreen perennial growing to around 25cm and slowly spreading out. I cut it to the ground in late winter then in mid spring the new shoots emerge with white pendulous bells looking like a very small Solomon’s seal.
