I have to say there is nothing about this plant that says peacock to me. It is however a magnificent perennial from the moment it surfaces in spring until the last leaves of Autumn. Rodgersia are one of those perennials that surface so late in spring that you always think they have died over winter. They require good soil in a sheltered position with some sunshine and plenty of moisture, these are not plants for hot conditions. This a slow growing genus that gradually builds strength over a number of years.
