Soldanella is a cool climate sub alpine perennial. The leaves are deep green small and round, in spring it sends up sprays of deep purple flowers. As with all plants of this nature getting the right position to grow it is fundamental. Mine is growing close to the trunk of a beech tree so lots of root competition but sunny over winter and early spring then quite shaded over summer. It is not drought tolerant so will require some summer irrigation.
Soldanella does well in pots if given a free draining mix and not kept permanently wet.
