Trillium is one of most loved perennials amongst gardeners who cultivate woodlanders. This is a plant that has evolved in cool deciduous forests. Any perennial growing on the floor of these forests requires a deep rich layer of leaf mould. Here in Olinda I have no difficulty with this plant except for its painfully slow growth habit.
Over the next few weeks I will have available divisions from my old clumps of the white form. I always divide Trillium now when the growing crowns are visible, with a bit of care they remove very quickly.
This is a plant for cooler Gardens.
I have just repotted my Trillium, they have not established in their pots but are good strong plants
