Sam arnott is a very fine snowdrop, it is a 19th century selection from nivalis discovered in Scotland. The whole plant is bigger in all parts than its parent with broad glaucous leaves and big well shaped bells.
This is a sterile hybrid so no seed is set but luckily the bulbs multiply well.
Like all Galanthus in Australian gardens deciduous shade is the best situation and the bulbs should be planted deep (15cm) and heavily mulched during dormancy.
This year I dug a clump of older bulbs, I have put 2 in each pot and both are flowering size.
These bulbs are potted in tubes for posting. The pots are way to small Sao they should be potted on or planted out reasonably quickly.
