Bomarea edulis

Bomarea is a member of the family Alstroemeriaceae. This is a perennial climber so is winter dormant then during summer the tendrils wind up any available support, I have mine in a big pot with bamboo canes leading it into a tree. The Orange and green flowers happen in early summer through to mid Autumn. Each year the tendrils get more numerous and stronger they will eventually reach 3 metres. This is a very well behaved plant that’s never shown any sign of escaping here.
My plants are 3 years from seed.
